A foreign media report says that Adobe has recently released a tool which is able to convert Flash files to HTML documents. However, this tool at present is only available for developers due to the imperfect functions.

For the large quantity of Adobe Flash users, especially for iPhone and iPad users, the biggest problem is that it does not support all the mobile platforms. Even Google operating system Android just began to support Flash until version 2.2, and it still takes some time for Android 3.0 “Honeycomb”, which is designed exclusively for tablet PC, to get Flash support.

HTML 5 is one of the Apple-supported formats and with lower hardware requirements. Popular websites like YouTube and many other more support exactly this format. Therefore, Adobe has released a new file converting application called Wallaby that is able to convert Flash to HTML. However, this tool is currently only available for developers, ordinary users cannot install it in their mobile phones and browse Flash page at this moment.

As indicated in the statement upon release, Adobe said its initial goal is to provide advertisers with a feasible solution, so that they can deliver their Flash ads to Apple iOS compatible equipments. Therefore, Apple iOS users still can not load the websites based on Flash, but can view the advertisement placed on it.

Nevertheless, this is a big leap taken by Adobe. The original version of Wallaby does not support to convert ActionScript, movies and music files, but Adobe is consistently working on it to improve the program by adding more functions. At present, Wallaby is able to convert Flash files to HTML, CSS and JavaScript files.
